I removed a comment section that only listed lots of genocides committed by people who lived by the pre-bioengineering delusion of irreversible dysgenics, and fallaciously assumed that genetic engineering would be the same thing. Just to make it completely clear: it would not be the same thing. In fact, the presence of genetic engineering would remove genocidal motivation by crushing any delusion of irreversible degeneration. The compatibility and complementary (not opposite) nature of terraforming and genetic engineering/speciation is explained very clearly in my article terrabioforming. Humans have biologically adapted after inventing agriculture, e.g. lactose tolerance which is a direct adaptation to cattle farming, and other extreme environment adaptations in the same time frame such as the distinct variety of the hemoglobin gene found in Sherpas and other Tibetans. Genetic change is not worse just because it is made consciously instead of by blind mutations. On the contrary, conscious genetic engineering allows much faster elimination of side effects than blind natural selection does.Martin J Sallberg (talk) 09:17, September 14, 2015 (UTC)
